A temporary exhibition at the Australian War Memorial, Canberra
In this exhibition, the 70th Anniversary of the siege of Tobruk is commemorated with a strong reflective focus upon the casualties of war, told through personal stories from the front and home, and encompassing wider narratives of Australian servicemen at war.
The actions and campaigns of Tobruk were fought in the Middle East and the Mediterranean. The exhibition evokes the expansive environments of desert, sky and sea that formed the landscapes of this campaign. Thylacine designed a series of open display elements that allowed visitors to view through layers of images and objects to make their own connections with the material.
