Old Dubbo Gaol

SCOPING STUDY AND EXHIBITION MASTERPLAN

Project Commenced: 2014
Project Completed: 2016
Floor Area: 4000 sq metre (total site)

Thylacine completed a design process for the development of a high-end media rich interpetive experience in Old Dubbo Gaol, NSW. The gaol is one of Australia’s best preserved historic gaols dating back to the mid 1800s. We completed the scoping study and exhibition master plan for the project anticipated as a $2 million interpretation with between $2 and $4million on building works for the gaol and orientation building.

The key aim of this development is to restore and perserve the historic gaol; focussing on a holistic visitor experience and introducing interpretation primarily through media to tell the gaol’s stories in the heritage space in sensitive and immersive ways.
