Furniture selection for the café, restaurant and general areas of the National Arboretum, Canberra
Thylacine was commissioned by the National Arboretum Canberra to select and design the furniture for the Village Centre. The Centre contains Sprout Café and The Conservatory restaurant, as well as general seating for visitors. Thylacine designed, fabricated and selected a range of furniture for these areas, including tables, chairs, casual seating, screens and a restaurant reception desk. We used a neutral base palette of pale timber, grey and white and then added a range of autumnal oranges, browns and rust reds in the upholstery. The effect complements the architecture and enhances the Centre, whilst providing comfort and functionality for the activities within it.
